Named after the methods of mental manipulation employed by the CIA’s Project MKUltra, this indica-dominant strain stands apart due to its powerful cerebral effects. A cross of OG Kush and indica G13, this strain is bred by T.H. Seeds and won 1st place Indica at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2003 and 2nd place in 2004. Indoor growing is facilitated by the plant’s short stature, and its above average yield delivers particularly sticky, dense, pungent flowers. MK Ultra is renowned for its euphoric effects that are fast-acting and best for when strong medication is desired. It might be best for a day when not getting off the couch would be fine.
With a name like Blue OG, this strain sets some high expectations. Luckily, it exceeds them, combining the best of indica strains Blueberry and Blue Moonshine with none other than OG Kush to yield a perfectly balanced high. Created by G13 labs — European breeders responsible for innovative strains like Royal Kush — Blue OG also offers an interesting fruity, kushy taste. This strain’s THC content has been measured at between 13% and 19%.
Blue OG stands out with medium to large buds that have a pronounced cylindrical shape. The nugs are dense and compact, as might be expected of an indica-leaning strain, and the tightly-packed leaves are a pale shade of sea green. Fiery orange hairs — which are actually pistils, structures meant to catch pollen from fertilizing male plants — twist their way through the curly leaves.
Glassy trichomes cover these already-colorful flowers and give the buds a frosty silver appearance.$10.00
Mamma Mia is a sister strain to our much-loved Mazari. Mamma Mia finishes sooner than Mazari though thanks to the influence of the earlier-flowering Skunk that was used in the breeding programme to create it. Although there are marked similarities with both strains Mama Mia is slightly more indica in growth pattern and structure it being shorter, broader and with darker leaves than Mazari.
Mamma Mia’s yields are good and the effect is not only smooth but long-lasting too. Recommended for all environments and grow-media Mamma Mia is ready to harvest with just 8 weeks of flowering and should be ready by the end of September or early October at the very latest when grown outdoors in the northern hemisphere.
